Gli azzurri si inchinano alla Russia
La nazionale Junior vola in Russia e perde onorevolmente 32 a 8. E' il ritorno in campo della Nazionale dopo quasi x anni di inattività nel football. La nazionale ha saputo essere squadra vera, fare gruppo e giocarsi la partita fino in fondo. I russi impongono il break nel primo tempo, quando si portano sul 14-0, sfruttando il loro peso per impostare la partita sulle corse. Ma la difesa azzurra poi inizia ad imporsi, fermando gli avversari e realizzando due intercetti. La svolta decisiva arriva proprio quando l’attacco azzurro inizia a macinare terreno, ma commette un fumble che da ai padroni di casa la possibilità di allungare. Il TD italiano arriva alla fine, su lancio di Corsini per Marziali. Sebbene il risultato sia sfavorevole all’Italia, il bilancio della trasferta è da considerarsi positivo. Bel gruppo, bel coaching staff, uno staff che ha saputo far fronte alle difficoltà di un’hospitality scadente e mettere in condizione i ragazzi di disputare la partita al meglio delle loro possibilità. Una vittoria per tutto il football italiano, la dimostrazione che sui giovani si può e si deve investire.

The Netherlands double champion in Junior Euroflag
The Netherlands captured the gold medals in the Euroflag Junior Championships in both the U13 and U15 levels. The games were played in Paris.
In the under 15’s, the Dutch team defeated Austria in the closely fought final 39-34. In the under 13-year olds, they beat Germany 64-21

EFAF Euroflag tournament director Wolfgang Geyer was very pleased with the tournament.
“The quality of the games was real good; all teams had the level to participate. A lot of games
were decided by less than one score. Fairness of teams was good, no ejections at all.”
“The organization did an excellent job. The tournament was well prepared, the stadium was very nice and the fields were in good condition”, Geyer said.
